2026 Hail & Farewell Recap – WPPCNC Gathers at Triad Park
The West Point Parent Club of North Carolina gathered on May 31, 2026, for one of our most meaningful traditions of the year—our Hail & Farewell. This special event gave us the opportunity to warmly welcome our newest families while also celebrating and sending off our graduating cadets as they begin their journey as Second Lieutenants in the United States Army. It was a beautiful day filled with fellowship, connection, and pride as our community came together in support of one another.
We were delighted to welcome six New Cadets and their families to the WPPCNC community. These incoming members of the Class of 2030 represent the beginning of an incredible journey, and we are honored to support them and their families every step of the way. At the same time, we proudly recognized five newly commissioned 2LTs from our club, celebrating their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to serve. As they prepare to attend Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) and move on to their first assignments, we know they carry forward the strength and spirit of both West Point and our North Carolina community.
This year’s incoming class continues a strong tradition of representation from our state, with 32 New Cadets from North Carolina joining the Class of 2030. We also celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2026, which graduated 998 cadets in total, including 22 members from our North Carolina club. The branches selected by our newly commissioned officers reflect a wide range of talents and callings: Aviation (5), Corps of Engineers (5), Field Artillery (3), Infantry (5), Military Intelligence (1), Military Intelligence with Armor Detail (1), and Signal (2).
Following BOLC, our graduates will report to duty stations across the country and around the world. These include Fort Bragg, NC (6); Fort Campbell, KY (2); Fort Drum, NY (1); Fort Hood, TX (3); Fort Polk, LA (1); Fort Riley, KS (2); Fort Rucker, AL (5); Fort Stewart, GA (1); and Vilseck, Germany (1). While they may be heading in different directions, they remain forever connected through their shared experience at West Point and the support of their WPPCNC family.
It was truly a celebration of beginnings and endings—honoring those who are just starting their West Point journey and those who are stepping forward to lead and serve. We are incredibly proud of all our cadets, past and present, and grateful for the strong community that surrounds them.
